Burn Down The Town & My Latest Caillou
A little late for the party on this one, but in the week of Monday, the 24th of November to Sunday, the 30th of November, I released my latest Caillou episode and my sixth novel, Burn Down The Town.
I’m quite excited about Burn Down The Town, I started writing it on Labor Day in 2023 after having a bout with the Shingles. Once they were going away, I watched an episode of Ozark with the lovely and talented Laura Linney. After that, I was talking to a friend about the rise of senior citizens using hard drugs. My friend and I worked at a restaurant together, and we encountered a few older folks who seemed fucked up. One of them was doing coke; otherwise, quite a few of them were prescribed many pills. In the late 90s to mid-2000s, you’d see many commercials about pharmaceutical drugs that help with mental illness. But also, I watched a lot of TV in those days, something I deeply regret now. I was a fucking lazy ass in those days. No wonder I had problems in 2007-08.
I finished writing Burn Down The Town around September 2024. I started getting beta reads in early 2025, but I ran into some problems and there were delays. Plus, I was focused on my Caillou Gets Grounded episodes. I delayed until September of 2025 (the year I’m writing this post). As of now, Burn Down The Town has not been fully edited, mainly due to my not putting two and two together fast enough. So, yes, I’m going to be releasing chapters each Friday until it’s done. Sorry for the teaser! I’m sure my beta-reader and my editor disagree with what I’m doing.
I can’t say that 2025 was one of the worst years of my life, not compared to 2022! However, it was one of the most financially stressful years compared to 2017. I had two health emergencies and a hospital stay; it’s a good thing I save money & invest it. Both of those health emergencies cost me over $4000. Good thing I didn’t put a lot of money into the Hawk Tuah coin!
When will I write the next novel? I’m taking a break from any long-term projects for a while. I’ll keep making CGG, but if three uploads in a row flop under 500 views, I’m done. I’m not blaming fans of my work; I think it’s the YouTube algorithm, and also, I was late for the party when it came to CGG. I fell down that rabbit hole while high off my ass looking for stupid but funny stuff on YouTube, and the near-hour compilation didn’t disappoint. I was laughing my ass off!
Besides that, I can see myself running out of ideas for CGG and ending it before this decade is over. I can see that happening big time. I’m going to be spending time promoting Burn Down The Town and some of my Caillou vids.
