Finally, it is great to see Motor City Rockers hockey again; sadly, it was not the result I wanted. Within the first ten seconds, there were three fights. Avery Smith vs. Ben Brockway; Brockway was ejected. Next, Connor Nagy vs. Jamie Bucell. Then, Grant Bondy vs. Brian Parsons. The Rockers did well in the first period, leading 2-1, as you can see in the picture above. After that, they fell apart. In the second and third periods, the Prowlers attacked. They spent a lot of time in the opposing zone and got shot after shot. And getting three goals. The next period, the Prowlers scored again, and I hate to say it, the Rockers were playing poorly.
The end result: Prowlers won 5-2. Both teams were in a big fight in the last 30 seconds. The Rockers’ arena is called The Yack. Or B.F. Yack Recreational Center. The seats hurt my ass. I was talking to a guy behind me, and he said he’s going to have bone spurs in his ass after sitting on the seat. Getting to the concession stand line was a pain in the ass; I skipped it and just chewed on my Life Savers to keep from getting thirsty during the game. Lots of Prowlers fans in this game and they were loud. They played “Everybody Clap Your Hands” too much. But I did hear “Lay It Down” by Ratt. I would prefer it if they played more rock music. Fraser did that.
I much prefer Big Boy Arena, but sadly, they got kicked out of there in May of 2025. When I got home, I tried to watch the Rockers game on the Rockers Media Network, but it wasn’t available because of copyright infringement at the time I wrote this blog post. I’m watching the Prowlers version.

Getting to Wyandotte was a pain in the ass. As of this blog post, I-75 South is under construction and no one is allowed to drive on it for a few miles in Detroit. I had to take a few turns and use some service roads to get back to I-75 South. I was using my car’s GPS until I got into a snafu with that I-75 closure; I shut it off and switched to Google Maps. Had the same dilemma when I hit the MI-OH-IN border. All this freeway construction and nearly $5 dollar a gallon gas, it’s the reason why I don’t go out and about so much besides visiting Grosse Pointe and Rochester.
Wyandotte was nice. It was my first time there since 2004, but back then I was there for work. I worked as a Land Surveyor for a company called Kem-Tec, which had an office in Eastpointe. While there, I ran into a few people I went to school with at East Detroit High and Kellwood Alternative. I lost the job by pissing off one of the ass-kissers in that place. I remember his name, but I don’t want this fuck-o coming out of the woodwork and suing me. People at that job were telling me a lot about this guy and how unpopular he was. I worked with him, and he was in the top 3 biggest assholes I’ve worked with.
I went to Maple Street Tavern for a drink to de-stress from that bad drive. And I walked around town taking photos and visited the park. Then I chowed down at R.P. McMurray’s. While at Paint Creek Tavern, I saw a photo of their stir-fry. But when I got in and saw it wasn’t on the menu, I asked the bartender, and she said, “it was once on the special menu.” I had a Chicken Caesar Salad instead. I plan on going to their next home game on Fri 13 Nov 2026. It’ll give me time to settle down from that bad drive. The drive back was nice.
