Sadly, I lost somebody in one of my Uncle’s side of the family. Her name was Betty Marino. Betty lost her husband in 2022. She had later moved to Nashville to be close to some of her family. She passed away on Thursday 23 July 2026. She was in her 90s, her exact age is unknown to me now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was at Sterlingfest, a festival here in Sterling Heights, Mich, in the beer line Saturday when I felt my phone move. I got the text message from another uncle who’s in Nashville, telling me the news. Although that made me sad, I decided to just continue and enjoy Sterlingfest. When the two headlining bands were done, I made to the shuttle line and was talking to a husband and wife duo in front of me. They asked me about my DCFC shirt. And I told them that while I was here, I heard the news of the death of a family member. The husband told me he lost his mother the previous weekend. I asked about the arrangements and he told me her funeral already happened, but didn’t say what day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t think he was wrong to bury his mom and want to move on and go to a festival soon after. It reminded me of when my Uncle Chris<\/a> died at my Mom’s house. Just after that, my mom was hellbent on getting his hospice equipment out of the house fast. I didn’t think she was wrong to do this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another sad addition to this is that one of her sons (my Uncle’s brother) passed away this month. Two deaths in a short period of time. It’s a bad month for the Marino fam. March 2014 was a bad month for the Thomas fam. I lost my Uncle Johnny on the 2nd of March. Then two weeks later, my great-aunt Marie on the 16th; I was with many people around her when she died. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sad times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
