The title is not meant to be one story, but two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"734\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/rthomas.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/munchkin.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rthomas.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/munchkin.png 734w, https:\/\/rthomas.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/munchkin-300x176.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 734px) 100vw, 734px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On Xmas Day, I spent it at my Mom&#8217;s house with my brother Paul. We watched some of the Lions game, and the result definitely didn\u2019t sit well with me. Lots of fumbles! I&#8217;m not a hardcore Lions fan or a big NFL fan to begin with. I&#8217;d say this year (2025-26), I&#8217;ve watched the most football I&#8217;ve watched since the 90s. Don&#8217;t want to get too tied up with Football, plus I hate sports talk radio. That influenced Rod Cambridge&#8217;s story on why he went to GoAnimate City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While watching that game on Netflix, we saw this Dunkin&#8217; commercial. Now we&#8217;ve seen the 30-second ad. I later discovered the 60-second ad. I thought it was cute at first, and those living Munchkins made me think of those Peons in Dice Dreams. However, that ending was pretty fucked up. When I got home, I watched the 60\u2011second ad, and honestly, that was more fucked. The 60-second ad showed the whole family grabbing these happy little Munchkins, and you know what&#8217;s next. If you wish to watch it, here it is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Little Holiday Munchkin\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RaJi_wnrR98?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>That ending was disturbing to me. I went to Reddit, and now, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has some new commercials that are much more disturbing, and let&#8217;s say that they don&#8217;t hide the creepiness. Here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Don&#039;t Look In The Fridge\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kIqXtIIq-6s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, I do remember a M&amp;M commercial where one of those M&amp;M characters eats a bowl of humans. Couldn&#8217;t find it on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, because this commercial creeped me out, I&#8217;m not going on a hashtag boycott on Dunkin. I&#8217;m more of a Tim Hortons guy. I love their Ice Capps! Been drinking them since 1999 and haven&#8217;t quit. I&#8217;m so used to Tim Hortons; it&#8217;s my favorite unhealthy fast-food place. Second is Arby&#8217;s. I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch somewhere in the middle of the last decade, and my heart was beating fast; I thought I was going to have a fucking heart attack. I avoid that to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Gut Feeling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Two weeks ago, I thought it would be a good idea to see the Toledo Walleye. For those who don&#8217;t know, I live in Suburban Detroit. I&#8217;ve been to many NHL games and quite a few IHL (AAA) games when the Detroit Vipers were here. Both the league and the team are defunct, but a FPHL team then known as the Hudson Valley Venom used a similar logo. Been to many Single-A games in the FPHL, the Detroit Motor City Rockers, Port Huron Prowlers, and the previous St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints. And even one OHL game in the mid-90s. But I&#8217;ve never been to a Double-A game, and I wanted to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, during those two weeks, up to December 21st, I had a gut feeling not to go to this game. Don&#8217;t buy the ticket, don&#8217;t go. My feeling wasn&#8217;t saying &#8216;why&#8217;; it was just saying &#8216;don&#8217;t go.&#8217; I thought Why? Weather? Car accident? Being at the wrong place in Toledo? Today (Dec 26th), there was freezing rain and some slick spots when I went grocery shopping earlier. Later, I would do my promotions on Twitter, and I saw the ECHL was trending. I saw a disagreement between the league and the players&#8217; union. And this Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/braydenlow\/status\/2004664713993748781\">post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Walleye game postponed as ECHL labor dispute escalates\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PNMelhgBQkg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GLAD I DIDN&#8217;T GO!!! HOLY FUCKARONI!!!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I had no idea that the ECHL was having these problems. I\u2019m on board with that salary increase \u2014 I didn\u2019t realize ECHL rookies made so little. Looking back, I\u2019m pretty relieved I didn\u2019t make that whole trip for nothing. I even thought about stopping by the IN\u2011OH\u2011MI border, but the freezing rain talked me out of it. I suppose I can go in March, provided the strike doesn&#8217;t last that long. One of my online friends lives in the New England area, and I&#8217;ve seen his Facebook post of him at Maine Mariners games, also in the ECHL. I&#8217;d imagine he&#8217;s disappointed. Been watching the Topeka Scarecrows (FPHL) here and there.
