Detroit City FC and Square Pegz

This is going to be more of a photo post with less words. On Wednesday 14 July 2021, I went to see Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium. This is the first time I’ve been there in three years. My last time, me and a family member went and I got to say, The Northern Guard is one of the best things I ever saw. Take a look at the video below:

After the 2020 season, Detroit City FC went up a tier. They were previously on the NSPL (fourth-tier) to NISA (third-tier). Great job DCFC!

Detroit City ended up winning that game 3-1 against FC Buffalo. It was also announced prior to the game that the Detroit City FC’s women’s team won the championship in their league and a defender won MVP. She got a free bike and rode it around the pitch. This game was also broadcasted live.

Square Pegz

Square Pegz is an 80s cover band big in Detroit and surrounding areas. The band ahs been around for quite a few years. They often headlined the Frankenmuth 80s Fest and I’ve seen them three times there. Square Pegz had some lineup changes and from the 2018 80’s Fest in Frankenmuth, only the bassist remains.

They were the headliners of the Farmington Festival on Saturday 17 July 2021. This was the very first time I’ve been to Farmington. I have been to it’s neighbor, Farmington Hills a couple of times, last time due to GrubHub sending me down there from Southfield. They had some issues at the beginning of the show but were able to get it going. After their first set, the speakers played Rush’s Spirit Of The Radio. A black gentleman got more excited about the song playing that I did. After the song was done, we talked a little about Rush. It’s a sad thing that we will never see them live again.
